The end of the Trudeau regime will be symbolic for more than just Canada
Is the era of Woke governance about to end?
If an election were held in Canada today, the Conservative Party led by Pierre Poilievre would not only win, but win a majority comparable to that won by John Diefenbaker and Brian Mulroney. To say the Liberal Party of Justin Trudeau faces a catastrophic defeat is an understatement - it could be a defeat which could be very difficult to recover from, given how much of the Liberal brand has been built around the cult of Trudeau.
But Trudeau’s impending defeat will be of vast symbolism not only for Canada. The Trudeau name has loomed large in Canada since the 1960s and has been associated with the transformation of the country from loyal Dominion to a multiculturalist, moral relativist, “post-national” society. In short, the essence of modern left-liberal politics in the Western world, which we now know as Wokeness.
Justin Trudeau’s government epitomises each and every one of these evils. Far from a commitment to equality and justice, Canada has become a decidedly unequal country where the average Canadian is feeling the pinch. Mind you, the average American and Australian is feeling the same way, for the same reasons. Moreover, the Trudeau regime and its acolytes (the NGO class) epitomises the authoritarian and abusive nature of left-liberalism. Justin Trudeau is every inch the successor to his father’s legacy.
For these reasons and more, a massive Conservative win is a must. Not only to save Canada, but potentially also the Commonwealth, the Anglosphere and the West.
The task facing Peter Dutton’s Liberal Party in Australia is no different. But Dutton’s task is being made easier by the spectacular incompetence of Anthony Albanese’s government, in freefall since losing the Voice referendum.
And with Western democracies besieged by internal hostile ideologies, the urgency has never been greater.
