Race and gender convulsions: the fightback begins
The backlash against radicalisation of race and gender politics
Since the events of 2020 and the election of Joe Biden as US President, race and gender politics in the Western World has become increasingly radicalised as progressives are not only virulently intolerant, but also determined to codify their intolerance into law. By virtue of “hate speech” laws, it already has been.
Gender ideology in the West is increasingly taking on the form of a religion. So too is race politics - postcolonialism and identity politics, BLM, CRT, Rhodes Must Fall, and the “Voice”. In Canada, anyone questioning standard narratives on residential schools is branded a “denialist”. Similarly, the “Voice” campaign in Australia features increasingly unpleasant rhetoric by the Left to demonise critics.
And who will win out of all this? Russia, China Turkey… all of whom may well be gloating at the West’s convulsions. Fortunately, we’re not all powerless to stop this and a growing backlash is taking place. The American Summer of 2023 may well be the turning point for gender politics as the agenda faces an increasingly determined opposition from parents.
Absurdly, all of this is being done by the Left in the name of the “underdog”, despite establishment media, universities and corporations behind them. And corporations are well aware that they may well feel the pinch due to a backlash against their ideological endorsements.
But it’s down to parents and their anger at what’s being taught to their kids. This is why Leftists, like Islamists, aim to alter family relationships and the relationship between the individual and the state: they wish to destroy any sense of family and community which impedes total state control. Because that’s what this is about - once they codify their intolerant ideology into law, the logical step for them is to remove the obstacles to its enforcement.
We still have time to prevent this nightmare becoming irreversible.
Addendum: while race and gender is their main focus now, we cannot ignore the class aspect of this. The Left once made class war its cause, and the Right rejected it. So the same now with race and gender. However, class is also a major factor because the Left is persecuting people who don’t have the resources to fight back. The real “ruling class” in all this is the NGO class.
Well said, David.
There has definitely been an awakening throughout the mainstream populace.
While they generally don't understand the fundamental drivers behind the changing cultural, social, and political structure of Western nations, there is a very real sense that a quantum shift has occurred, and none of it makes sense.
What they do know is that there is absolutely nothing in it for them - especially if they are white and male - and the once egalitarian and nationalistic nation that they grew up in is being aggressively eroded from within.
