New frontier in the Culture Wars
Migrant communities prove a robust bastion against indoctrination
Critical Race Theory and gender theory are being promoted by progressive networks and unprincipled corporate allies within the wider framework of postcolonialism and identity politics. But wait, there’s more.
Because it turns out the migrant communities whose causes were so cynically championed by progressives aren’t aligned with their “values” at all. We’ve learned about this in the last few weeks in the USA and Canada, where parents from Armenian and Muslim communities have taken the same stances as conservative Catholic, evangelical and Orthodox Jewish parents against the latest indoctrination in schools. There are even LGBT people who believe, rightly, that this has gone too far.
The world is watching. The guardians of “mainstream” opinion have found a culture shock from the most unlikely source to the, but no surprise to those in the know: migrant communities don’t have anything in common with the insanity which has overtaken Western liberalism and are putting up a robust defence.
Just recently, the corrupt and disgraced SPLC added a host of parents’ groups to its libelous “hate groups” list. The list can be used by the radical Left to attack opponents, which has happened on numerous occasions.
Moreover the radical Left may have a different social agenda to radical Islamists, but they do possess in common a desire for the state to intervene in every aspect of people’s lives - which means eroding the rights of parents and subverting or subordinating the family unit to the whims of the state, or in this case, assorted NGOs.
