Is the era of "anti-racism" and "anti-fascism" over?

Nick Lowles' resignation from Hope Not Hate could spell further trouble ahead for an already embattled cause

The notorious British Leftist smear machine Hope Not Hate appears to have been dealt a blow with the resignation of Nick Lowles. No reason has been given, but it would be surprising if it weren’t related to the lies he spread last year about unrest which gripped the UK that summer. And probably its financial state, too.

If confirmed, it is likely to be a blow to a movement and an industry (I’ll call it what it is) that has thrived on attacking decent, patriotic people on both sides of the Atlantic, and whose origins and very nature are deeply sinister. This goes far beyond the nonprofits themselves and extend to a web of politicians, bureaucrats, journalists and academics who have created and enforced this orthodoxy.

The totalitarianism of the Woke Era (2014-22) and the subsequent unravelling, accelerated by October 7 2023, have produced profound changes in Western democracies which have made it difficult for governments and the would be censorship industrial complex to control the narrative.

This can be seen in the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) having undergone internal purges, gutting programs, and likely to face lawsuits in the near future. Its British equivalents, Searchlight and Hope Not Hate, are likely to be on the defensive as they are being further exposed for their dishonest activities.

The meta-narrative? The post-Civil Rights era in which multiculturalism and anti-racism were orthodoxy is coming to an end. The moral regime of the post-1965 period is falling apart. It has been for some time, but Woke excesses followed by a backlash, and the media’s loss of narrative dominance, has accelerated it.

The next de-industrialisation may well be the nonprofit sector, and frankly well deserved.
