Americans voted for Donald Trump because they want a normal life
The simple, unvarnished truth about the most consequential election of our lifetime
I’ll keep it brief due to delays and coverage elsewhere, but in a nutshell why Americans voted for Trump, and why the attempted cultural revolution of 2020-21 failed.
The backlash against progressive overreach was inevitable, especially as the latest incarnation of progressivism is basically insane. Let’s sum up the points of the whole agenda:
believing that all of humanity’s ills are caused by white people and the West, that “racism” and “white supremacy” is in everything and everywhere
believing that a man can pass for a woman at face value and be accepted into women’s sports and bathrooms
exposing young children to things related to the above, being given pseudo-scientific cover
rejection of the nation-state, culture, history and identity of a country, and open borders maximalism
endless witchhunts through “cancel culture” which has poisoned social and human relationships
abortion and euthanasia maximalism
Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter (now X) and the rapid decline of legacy media have shown progressive talking points to be not as popular with normal people as was believed. Normal Americans who want to live a normal life, with normal schools and workplaces and not subjected to endless ideological propaganda.
Last but not least, the economy. But even this can’t be separated from culture. Left-liberal ideological hegemony failed because it has failed to guarantee security and prosperity for the population. It’s obvious, isn’t it?
