A Program for Iran
A political program cannot succeed if it is too vague and “inclusive” and fails to articulate a clear, definable vision for a nation’s future. For Iran a political program which patriotic and monarchist Iranians should agree on has to be responsible, reasonable and realistic. It has to take into account internal and external realities to ensure that regime change occurs without any risk of chaos within and without. Only a regime change based on constitutionalism can do that. This is based on unconditional support for Reza Pahlavi and adherence to Iranism and Pahlavism.
Here is a program which will be divided into sections outlining the future of Iran to be implemented on the day the Islamic Republic is overthrown. First will concern the form of government, national identity and symbols. Second will be domestic policy points (social, economic, cultural, environmental). Then will be foreign policy and security points. The overarching theme is the return of constitutional monarchy, an uncompromising stance on national identity, reconstruction, security and good relations with the world.
PART ONE - FORM OF GOVERNMENT AND THE NATION OF IRAN
Iran is to be a constitutional monarchy on the basis of the Pahlavi Dynasty and the 1906 Constitution, which will be restored on the day of the overthrow, and will be appropriately modified.
Iran is a single, indivisible nation with a unique and ancient history. No threat to Iranian identity and territorial integrity is to be tolerated. No dilution of Iranian identity and independence is tolerable.
The Lion and Sun Flag and all traditional symbols of Iran pre-1979 will be restored and recognised as the only national flag and symbols of Iran.
No national identity other than an Iranian national identity is to be tolerated. Iranian culture is to be defended, promoted and cherished (also see education policy).
I put this part first because it establishes the fundamentals. The desire for a constitutional monarchy is not simply nostalgia for pre-1979 Iran, but also because of the overwhelming evidence of the needs of Iran and the region. The successful and stable states in MENA are overwhelmingly monarchies - Morocco, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman. It is not even something to be questioned here. It makes sense that Iran should have a constitutional monarchy because there is no honest and workable alternative to it.
However, here is where we get to the nitty-gritty of how is it going to work. There will, of course, be an elected Parliament. An electoral law will be enacted to determine how this Parliament is going to be elected, as well as regulating the formation of any political parties which are to take part. But the point is this will be normal representative government. There are numerous examples in the region of regulated multiparty systems in operation.
Iran’s national symbols have been under attack from anti-Iranian Leftists. Therefore it is necessary to clarify that attacks on the flag and history of Iran will not be tolerated, and Iranian nationalism is to be actively promoted and fostered at every level. There cannot be any questioning of Iran’s identity and territorial integrity, and no concessions should be made to those whose goal is to dilute them in service of foreign interests. Education and culture policy as well as the national security apparatus will further reinforce the nationalist spirit.
The defence of Iran’s territorial integrity, culture and identity is non-negotiable.
PART TWO - DOMESTIC POLICY
Social policy aims at social cohesion, promotion of a stable family environment, and repudiation of the misogynistic policies of the Islamic Republic.
Economic policy aims at national reconstruction and restoration of soundness to the economy of Iran, creating a favourable environment for development, trade and investment.
Education and cultural policy aims towards the prosperity and security of the nation of Iran, fostering Iranian culture, art and science.
Environmental policy aims at addressing Iran’s devastating environmental damage since 1979
Freedom of religion is to be one of the key points of freedom in Iran
The maintenance of national unity and social cohesion is inseparable. The promotion of Iranian culture and values is to be a priority through education and culture. Public figures including artists will be expected to play a role in nurturing Iranian patriotism in line with standard practice.
The Iranian economy has been criminally mismanaged by the Islamic Republic. It is currently dominated by Mafia-like structures which exploit the Iranian people and also provide income for the regime’s terror machine. These structures are to be dismantled as part of economic reconstruction. Reconstruction will focus on making Iran a competitive economy, with trade and investment policies to be pursued to that end.
Environmental damage in Iran since 1979 has been devastating and I will not offer extensive comment on it all here, but tackling this issue must be given a high priority. Not least of which is water - which is ever more a transnational issue. This also impacts neighbouring countries, so environmental issues will be a factor in Iran’s foreign policy.
Freedom of religion will be a cornerstone policy of Iran after the Islamic Republic. There will be an end to the official discrimination of Christians, Jews, Sunnis, Zoroastrians, Baha’is and other communities who are subject to such official discrimination. Iran will be a civil state with no restrictions on practice. The promotion of tolerance and coexistence will also form part of cultural and foreign policy.
PART THREE - FOREIGN POLICY AND SECURITY
Iran is to have friendly relations with all nations of the world, especially its neighbours
A strong national security apparatus will guard Iran against external threats and preserve unity and territorial integrity
The first step is the dismantling of the Islamic Republic’s entire global terrorist apparatus. The foreign policy of the constitutional monarchy will be a complete repudiation of this dreadful legacy.
The Cyrus Accords will be the most important part of foreign policy which will establish regional peace and security. Iran will strive for friendly nations with all nations as long as they respect Iran’s independence, identity and territorial integrity. This will tap the vast potential of the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia, as well as resolve numerous crises throughout the world.
Strong emphasis must be given to cultural exchanges, environmental issues such as water, counterterrorism, energy security a migration issues. The criminal regime of the Islamic Republic has been a factor in havoc in all of these issues.
There is the need for a strong military and intelligence apparatus to defend the nation, including any threats from anti-Iranian ideologies.
CONCLUSION
I don’t mean this to be a definitive document, but something that can be used as a reference. I’ll leave it to monarchists and patriots to read this, and see if they agree or disagree with the points and make suggestions of their own. Thank you!
